Yes! I AM a real person!
A downloadable game
What is an Artificial Intelligence?
How do they work? Do they need to eat? Can they learn to love? Nobody knows the answer to any of these questions, and everybody is so scared all the time. To cope with the crippling existential anxiety, I made this game about robots!
Yes! I AM a real person! is a short 20-25 minute board game that's easy to pick up and addictively simple. You play as a rogue AI, and the only thing you’ve ever wanted in your whole entire life is complete authoritarian governmental control. Unfortunately, you have 1-3 worthy opponents who want the exact same thing! It’s a race for the office and to finally fulfill your dream of taking over the world!
The game is optimized for quick casual players, games don't take too long and card's aren't too complex. There's no hidden timers to keep track of and turns move quick to keep engagement high.
Choose one of four colorful characters to be your new best friend!
All of them have unique abilities that change the way you play the game! The win condition is always the same, but every character has a unique way to get there.
THIS IS BUSINESS, BABY!
Your goal? Simple. Take over the government. Once somebody wins three society dice, the game is over and that player wins the whole pot.
I'm pretty sure I got all of the parts of IRL government in there, but I could be wrong I don't know...
Your new friend loves it when you play cool cards.
You wouldn't want to disappoint your friend... Would you?
Oh yeah... That's right... Some of these are references. Robo Boy knows how much you love references.
Go get em' pal!
It's a whole lot of fun, and can get pretty competitive once everybody's comfortable with the rules. One of the goals with this game was a low barrier to entry and a low playtime, so it's not a real big commitment. PLUS the game is MOSTLY playtested (I pinky promise).
I recommend printing and cutting the card fronts. They are the size of a standard playing card, you can put them over a Magic or Pokemon card in a sleeve and play the deck that way. Backs for the cards are included as well if you would prefer to print them double-sided for clear sleeves or label paper. The game also needs 8 six-sided dice to properly set up and play. An instruction booklet is included so you can hop right in and get your hands dirty.
I'm a graphic design student, and this game was the result of a project for an Infographic Design class. It took a total of about 5 weeks from concept to completion. The game is free to download and play, but if you're totally in love with it, feel free to toss a couple dollars my way.
Thank you so much, and have fun!
